ABOUT DR. PEGGY BARLOW

Dr. Peggy Barlow, DVM is a graduate of the Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine and is the owner and principal veterinarian at Water’s Edge Veterinary Hospital.

In what she describes as a personal “family practice” for pets and their people, Dr. Barlow serves the veterinary care needs of animals throughout the north shore.

Dr. Barlow previously enjoyed an active practice as an associate veterinarian with several prominent North Shore veterinary hospitals.  She concentrates her practice on companion animal and pocket pet care.

“Our practice focuses on individualized wellness and preventative healthcare for pets. We think of what we do here as a family practice, because we like to deal not only with the animal, but with the animal’s owners,” Dr. Barlow says.

“Today, animals are receiving better care and living longer lives. Geriatric care along with new technologies, new drugs, and new treatment protocols allow for the treatment of conditions that were generally fatal not long ago, “ Dr. Barlow explains. “That’s why Dr. Barlow stresses the importance of selecting a veterinarian who listens carefully to what the client wants and is willing to design a pet’s treatment along those lines.

“The advantage of a small, private practice like Water’s Edge, is that we provide familiarity, comfort, and continuity,” she says.
